Energy Chain igus® Series 1400
The Series 1400 from the E2/000 system can be opened on both sides along the inner radius and has an inner height of 21 mm. This system stands out due to its lightweight and versatile installation combined with robustness, high stability, quiet operation, long service life of cables, and various mounting options.
Additional product features:
Double stop-dog system for long unsupported lengths
Versatile modular interior separation
Strain relief can be integrated into the mounting bracket
Up to 4 years warranty: Guaranteed service life for this series according to the warranty conditions.
When should I use it?
When a medium-sized, stable system with an inner height of 21 mm is required
For long travel distances up to 75 m
When inner widths up to 125 mm are required
For unsupported lengths up to 1.75 m and fill weights up to 2.0 kg/m
When an optimized opening system is required for quick opening of the crossbars, optionally from the left or right side
When should I not use it?
When higher stability is required: System E4.1, Series E4.21
For very simple applications: easy chain system, Series E14

Unsupported Length
Dependence of the unsupported length on the additional load:
X-axis: Unsupported length in m, FLB / FLG
Y-axis: Additional load in kg/m
Lower scale: Travel distance S in m
FLB = Unsupported with permitted sag
FLG = Unsupported with straight upper run
Reading example A:
Fill weight = 1.5 kg/m
Unsupported length FLB = 1.3 m
Travel distance = 2.6 m
Calculation of Chain Lengths: Unsupported
Pitch: 33.3 mm
Links per meter: 30
Chain length = S/2 + K
K = allowance for bend radius when calculating the e-chain length in mm
Note: The chain length for the chain links is rounded up, as half links are not available.
A = Moving end
B = Fixed end
Calculation of Chain Lengths: Gliding
From 10 m up to max. 75 m
Chain length = S/2 + K2
Long travel distances – gliding, up to max. 75 m:
In this application, the upper run of the e-chain® glides on the lower run in a guide trough. We recommend having this type of system designed by our technicians. For travel distances between 4 and 10 m, we recommend using a larger unsupported e-chain®.
A1 = Moving end
A2 = Fixed end
A3 = Guide trough with glide bar
A4 = Guide trough without glide bar
A5 = Total length of guide trough
